The Langer’s Ball aus St. Paul (Minnesota), USA, das sind Michael Sturm an der Gitarre, Mandoline & Gesang sowie Hannah Rediske am Akkordeon und an der Penny Whistle. The Langer’s Ball spielen Traditionals, moderne irische Songs und Jigs & Reels.
„As I roved out” ist ein Album für Folkpuristen: Es werden brav und sehr gekonnt akustische Folkinstrumente benutzt; elektrische Gitarren, wütende Bässe oder laute Drums werden tunlichst vermieden.
Der Gesang der Band ist sehr charismatisch, weich und hat viel Potenzial. Ebenso ist die Tin Whistle authentisch eingespielt. Ein nettes, gut produziertes Irish Folk Album.
