King of Ireland – Einblicke in das Herz eines Iren in Deutschland
von daniels
Manchmal kriegt man wirklich interessante Dinge zugespielt. Dank an Muirdin! Schaut mal rein …

Da nicht alles so gut lesbar ist, habe ich es mal versucht abzutippen (Dank auch an Marion). Andere Interpretationen bitte in die Kommentare.
King of Ireland started as a song about a dream, a dream about having everything I wanted! A home beside the ocean with a beautiful woman at my side to share this dream with me. Apart from havin the ocean beside me this dream has become reality due to a girl called Murphy!
It is also a song for anyone who, whatever reason lives away from their homeland. To this theme, there are many songs, especially from Ireland where for decades people have been leaving in search of employment or because of political beliefs.
I personnaly have lived away from home for the last 16 years and although I often miss being with my family and friends, drinkin pints of guinness in the local pub in “Howth”, County Dublin. I find myself “verdammt glucklich”. with my situation living far away from home.
Home is where the heart + the hearth is and my home is in many places (scruffy-the krusty moors). In my mind this song is a very happy song!!
The final verse is dedicated to all the people (especially musicians) who find themselves missing where they come from but, at the same time happy where they are!!
” I find I’ve wandered far from home
but home is within me, wherever I roam”
(Mike Scott – Waterboys)This song is also for all the people who hear us live or on cd – as the text reads
We’re here happy with you – all of you!
